Dear Students and Families,
Our school year together has come to a close. It has been an eventful year full of lots of changes, positive growth, and lifelong memories. I have felt so privileged to be your child’s 4th grade math teacher. I can’t thank you enough for trusting and sharing your children with me.
This particular group of students was one that I will never forget. I was fortunate to have had a front row seat in watching them learn, grow, and be challenged far beyond what they expected. They were always willing to try anything I put in front of them, and they did it with such perseverance. We had fun together every single day. They have truly touched my heart. I can only hope I have made a positive impact on them too. It was also so rewarding to be able to share these students with such a fabulous team teacher, Mrs. Rickard. We both learned a lot from each other and had the privilege of making an impact on twice as many students.
When I think of this class there are some fun memories that stand out to me. I enjoyed starting each day with a different song and our “brainsmart start”. I loved doing our “wish wells” each morning and learning about their lives outside of the classroom. We overcame classroom challenges and conflicts together, and had lots of family meetings to discuss life lessons in every different situation. We enjoyed our random “boogie breaks”, and occasional extra recess outside. We conquered the very first year of ILEARN testing together – I’ve never been more proud! Over the year, these kids have grown so much socially. They are headed to middle school next year, and I have no doubt they will take all that they have learned and experienced and be able to tackle this new chapter ahead.
As I return your children to you after our year together, please know that I have grown to love your child, I’m invested in your child, and I will always be ready and willing to provide support should you ever need it. My door is always open and I would love to cross paths again in the future.
Have an amazing summer filled with fun, sun, and positive energy!
With much gratitude,
Mrs. Lisa Howard
