How parents can use this page to help from home:
Character Trait of the Week: PEACEFULNESS
Every week I introduce a character trait and read a scenario each day that focuses on the trait we are studying. The scenarios are very useful for instilling virtues in children. The students seem to enjoy them and it is my hope that they will have a lasting impact on their character development. Encourage your child to share what the scenarios were about what he/she learned about each trait.

5-Minute Daily Language Review Procedures:
- Students have 5 minutes to independently complete a D.L.R. Monday-Thursday. It's important that students focus and try their best to answer all the questions in the time they're given.
- After 5 minutes, we grade each question in class and discuss the correct answers. Students make corrections with a blue pen.
- The scores students earn on the D.L.R’s that are completed Monday-Thursday will NOT be recorded in my grade book.
- Every Friday students take a D.L.R. quiz. Each question on the quiz is a repeat of a question from during the week. If students study the skills during the week, they should do very well on Friday’s quiz. Quiz scores WILL be factored into student’s writing grade. The graded quizzes come home every Friday.
